J Mascis is the guitarist of the punk-rock band Dinosaur Jr, well known for his collaborations and his influence on bands such as Sonic Youth and Nirvana. J Mascis has always had a sound signature associated with the Big Muff, this being the basis of guitar sound. Since 1987, he has been using an EHX Big Muff Ram's Head with component values somewhat "out of line" with the standards of the genre. This gives it a particular sound and this is what Wren and Cuff have reproduced in this Garbage Face. So you have within this pedal, the artist's favorite Ram's Head. A real wall of sound!
Externally the pedal adopts a superb colorful case. We found classic Volume, Gain, Tone and that's it! Inside, it's as pretty as the outside!
Once plugged in, the pedal delivers a colossal drive, with a heavy low mid, harmonics in the top galore with an imposing density. Overall everything you need to play the classics of the era and more. It's the quintessence of the Big Muff early-70's sound with tenfold possibilities of interaction. The sustain is almost infinite and you get a wide range of sounds.
