The Wampler Pantheon is a Swiss Army knife overdrive pedal based on a modified Analog Man King Of Tone circuit (itself based on the Marshall BluesBreaker). A great classic of the genre, totally timeless and absolutely essential, as this pedal works in so many styles and configurations.
Externally, we are entitled to a standard chassis with a pretty blue finish. The connections are on the top, practical. The pedal is equipped with a 2-band EQ, including an active Baxandall-type Bass button. Also, Volume, Gain and Presence controls as well as 2 toggle switches which provide access to 3 gain stages and 3 different voicings (3 clipping methods). Inside, good quality PCB and switch.
The big strong point of a pedal based on a BB circuit is that from experience, everyone knows that it works well on a lot of amps. This is a big strong point which accentuates its versatile character. At 12:00 we obtain an organic, perfectly balanced drive which works wonders on a clean channel, but also for stacking on a crunch. By pushing the Gain, you gain fluidity and the pedal becomes really fun to play. The Pantheon delivers a “chewy” and very touch sensitive drive. Thanks to its excellent EQ section, you can obtain a denser and richer drive than the classic version. The Presence control is the real plus of the Pantheon, it allows you to sculpt your sound and adapt the drive to your equipment. Brian Wampler also extended the available gain range by adding several gain stages. This makes it a real Swiss Army knife ranging from light OD to heavy classic-rock Distortion. It's musical, it's both tight in the mids and soft in the low end, it's super clean with the volume knob and you can pair it with just about everything.
With the Wampler Pantheon, you can treat yourself to the legendary sound of these highly sought-after pedals, without having to spend hundreds of euros or wait 2 years on a waiting list. Do not hesitate!
