The Wampler Euphoria is a natural and transparent overdrive pedal that delivers Dumble-inspired sounds thanks to a sound signature that emphasizes dense and warm drives.
Externally, we are entitled to a standard chassis with a pretty metallic green finish. The connections are on the top, practical. The pedal offers the usual controls: Volume, Gain and Tone. It also benefits from a Bass control (pre-gain) and a 3-position switch. Inside, PCB and switch are of good quality.
On a clean channel, with everything at 12:00 and the Bass control at minimum in smooth mode, we obtain a light drive, with a soft, clear, very articulate attack. By increasing the Volume and Bass, we gain thickness and gain, the pedal becoming more connected and fluid. In Open mode, we will gain in brilliance and in Crunch mode, in gain. The Euphoria's strong point is its interaction between each knob (mainly Volume, Tone and Bass). A bit like a “cascading” design amp (typically Dumble). Smooth mode is the closest to rendering a Dumble. With a Les Paul and by raising the Gain to 15:00 and the Bass to 12:00, you obtain an ultra thick, dense sound, with a punchy attack that lets your clear base shine through in the attack. If you are a fan of organic, warm and round sounds, the Euphoria is very suitable!
