The JAM Pedals Fuzz Phrase Si is a Fuzz Face Silicon pedal with a JAM twist. With the Fuzz Phrase Si and its 2 excellent BC107 transistors, you have the best of 60's sounds, all in a compact box that rocks.
Externally, it is a JAM Pedals, it benefits from a hand-painted finish. Each pedal will therefore be slightly different from one copy to another. The controls are very simple and intuitive: a Level knob for the output level and a Gain to adjust the distortion level.
Inside, we have a quality PCB that only confirms the great care that our Greek friends bring to the manufacture of these pretty colorful pedals. On this PCB, we find a pair of Silicon BC107 transistors with a priority implementation for an original circuit.
The JAM Pedals Fuzz Phrase Si is a pedal that couldn't be simpler to use. Two solutions are available to you. Stack it on a crunch channel with a gain level between 11 and 15:00. Or, put everything to the max and plug into an excellent clean channel. This second solution is our preference if you have a clean channel with a lot of headroom. Indeed, with the Gain at maximum, the Fuzz Phrase sounds absolutely enormous. The harmonic content is very rich, it's dense as desired, it bleeds everywhere without going in all directions, and the dynamics remain there. So are you going to tell us 2 controls is poor? No, not at all, you control all the nuances of your sound with the volume and tone knob on your guitar. The JAM Pedals Fuzz Phrase Si cleans-up perfectly and will offer you a whole palette of sounds ranging from Hendrix to more advanced late 60's fuzz.
With the Fuzz Phrase Si, JAM offers us a pedal that sounds huge for a price that is, as usual, very reasonable. The finish is superb, the manufacturing quality impeccable. What more could you ask for? :)
