Serpens

Pedal often underestimated by guitarists, the compressor is in fact an ally of choice! The Ground Control Audio Serpens is an ultra organic compressor, quite different from what you can usually find on the market. Indeed, not only is it made by caribou who know how to weld very well, but it also has a fairly specific mode of operation.

On the outside, it's pretty, the case is superb and it's as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. High quality PCB, soldering (of the same caribou) at the top, selected components. It's made to last and it's fun on a pedalboard. As for the controls: A Volume, a blend for the dry / wet signal, a Sensitivity adjustment and a Gain control.

Once in hand, it snaps and ... first good thing, it does not blow! Second thing, the Serpens has its own color and a "release" of its own. Do not look for excessive transparency here, it is not the goal. Here is a compressor with a unique color and character. We appreciate the interaction between the Blend and the Sens which allow to keep a natural attack and to control the dynamics in a precise way. We can act on the compression with the Gain knob. Be careful, the Serpens requires a little skill because the settings interact very widely with each other. We also have access to 2 internal trim-pots to adjust the gain range and the progressiveness of the Release. The Serpens is a compressor for tweakers, those who experiment and dabble in everything.

The Ground Control Audio Serpens is a compressor like no other, far from the tasteless and "simplified" models for most guitarists. It's a creative tool in its own right, an effect that adds grain and color. If your game is original, the Serpens will be a perfect companion!
