Connected to a pure clean channel, we immediately appreciate the silence and naturalness of it. The Xotic RC Booster is not only true-bypass but also perfectly transparent. Super-Strat on the knees with everything at 12:00, the pedal is of a naturalness rarely heard. Instantly, it gives you shime, air and a light compression that is truly addictive. Typically the kind of pedal that you leave on non-stop as it flatters your sound. It reacts like clockwork and allows for a nuanced game with this little boomy side to the attack, which crashes slightly depending on your playing dynamics.
With Gain 1 all the way up, we have a very nice light overdrive with a well-positioned midrange, not caricatured and which does not sound plastic but very amp-like. Ideal for getting through the mix.
On a simple neck pickup, you get a slight grit, it twists very nicely, you gain thickness and fluidity on a clean base. With humbuckers, we will cover classic rock styles with a light, fluid drive, thick with lots of harmonics. It's rich, fun to play and extremely flattering.
Gain 2 brings fat, thickness and just a little more gain to make solos easier.
