Duality RS

The RedSeven Duality RS is a compact version of the excellent Duality 100. A versatile amp that delivers a wide range of sounds from the clearest to the most saturated. The advantage of the Duality RS lies in its extreme flexibility and its avalanche of specs that are usually only found on large caliber heads.

For the construction, we are at the top of what is done in the genre. Very high quality PCB, ultra-selected components, custom transformers made in Italy. It's beautiful, well assembled, the knobs are firm, their travel very progressive... in short, you will have understood it, the Duality is a bulldozer both outside and inside.

The front panel is rather airy although very complete for an amp of this type: 2 channels with 3-band EQ, one Volume per channel, 2 Master volumes, 2 Bright switches and the switch to change channels. On the back side: the HP outputs, the loop, the MIDI connector and the Presence control. The amp benefits from push-push buttons on the right of the front panel. These allow you to activate an additional channel (Modern), an additional gain stage (Lead), master 2 and the effects loop.

Connected to a cabinet mounted in V30 and 12-65, we attack the clean channel. It's straight, modern without being stiff with a nice roundness. Very clean, ideal for all Rock, Hard, Prog and Fusion registers. The EQ is very responsive and well calibrated. We find the typical RedSeven signature with a little boomy side on the attack and a medium forward.

We go to channel 2, with everything at 12:00. This channel is surely on this one that you will spend the most time as it is flexible and versatile. You have everything from AC/DC to Bon Jovi to Guns and Megadeth. It's plug n play, very dynamic, with just enough gain to clean up the volume knob perfectly. By activating the Modern switch, we start where the Vintage mode stops. It's tighter, more compressed, with more gain and binder. The EQ works wonderfully and the Mid button is incredibly effective. In this mode, we have all the 80's sounds. By activating the Lead, it sends heavy with more fluidity for the solos. It's articulated, typed Plexi with a less buzzy Mid, more compact. With a Les Paul, it's hell, big sound as we like it with a big dynamic in reserve and no vulgar over-compression ;-) The icing on the cake, we can integrate it into a MIDI configuration complex to be triggered remotely.

In conclusion the RedSeven Duality is a little moth just waiting to express itself. Fans of big sound and beautiful objects, RedSeven offers us an explosive little package at a more than reasonable price. It's beautiful, well made, it doesn't buzz and it's made to last. Bim!
