The KarDiaN Adrenaline C9H13NO3 is a cataclysmic type distortion effect pedal! If you're looking for heavy distortion with generous compression, grating lows and highs, all with a rough undertone, you'll like this.
A small visit is essential... the chassis. So let's make it short, it's a killer. no more no less. The finish is magnificent, the attention to detail rarely seen for a product of this type (a pedal), everything is handmade, it's light, super well insulated and it hits once on the pedalboard.
Inside, a typically Japanese approach is to say: "come on! hop! we put all the best and we make it all beautiful!". Yes, it's beautiful to look at it's so well done. From Texas Instrument, Amtrans AMRG resistors (1% tolerance, non-magnetic, brass tips, gold-plated oxygen-free copper leads...), Vishay capacitors etc... and top PCB. 4 buttons: Volume, Drive, Treble, Bass, 9VDC power supply. Bim!
Might as well tell you right away, Adrenaline (as its name suggests) does not cut corners! Ultra-fast attack, dry distortion and astronomical amount of gain, we get it in the teeth! Like all the pedals in the range, it benefits from a very responsive EQ. This is specific to the C9H13NO3 as it can push to extremes, while maintaining excellent dynamics and articulation. It's "chiseled", it slices like a razor with a hollow midrange and a wall of sound side that is close to the grain of a fuzz as it has a massive side, but without ever denying precision. A kind of clever mix between brutal fuzz and modern distortion.
